Hi! I'm Whitney.

I’m a follower of Christ, a wife, homeschooling mom of four, a Bible college graduate, and a registered nurse. I love truth, beauty, and deep theology, and I believe the gospel changes not only eternity but also our ordinary days. I’m convinced that the unseen work of motherhood and family discipleship matters far more than we realize.

My Story

Since 2018, I’ve been homeschooling my children. What began as a calling for our family has grown into a wider mission through Brighter Day Press, where my heart is to equip and inspire parents to teach in their homes with confidence, creativity, and truth. I believe our children are constantly being shaped by the messages around them, and we have the opportunity as Christian parents to bring light into our homes through intentional discipleship and education rooted in God’s Word.

I’m deeply inspired by Charlotte Mason’s vision of spreading a feast of truth, beauty, and goodness before our children. That vision shapes everything I create: literature-rich, aesthetically beautiful, theologically grounded resources that are practical for real, busy families. You don’t need a teaching degree or a seminary education to shepherd your children well. With the right tools, a gospel foundation, and a vision for what is good and true, your home can be a “little gospel outpost” to train up the next generation.

I’m also the author of Lift Your Eyes, a book written to help weary mothers fix their gaze on Christ in the middle of everyday demands. Through that book and through my social media platforms, I share encouragement for gospel-centered motherhood, practical discipleship, and finding grace in the ordinary rhythms of family life. My desire is always the same: to help women lift their eyes from pressure and comparison and fix them firmly on Jesus.

I don’t write or speak as someone who has mastered motherhood or homeschooling, but as one who desperately needs Jesus in it. I believe God delights to use weak, willing mothers to accomplish eternal things, and that His grace is sufficient for today.

Meet My Family

Everything I do—writing, creating resources, teaching—grows out of the life I live every day. At the heart of it all is my precious family, who shape and inspire everything I create.

I’ve been married to my husband, Shawn, for 17 years. He is a worship pastor, my business partner, and a constant encouragement in both ministry and parenting.

Our children—Liam, Lanie, Bear, and Beckham—are our greatest joys. Our home is overflowing with books, conversation, creativity, and the beautiful noise that comes with learning and growing side by side. Our days are shaped by church life, homeschooling, and lots of reading aloud. In this season, ministry and motherhood are deeply intertwined, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
